PABX and VoIP phone systems in Gaborone

We design, install and support IP PABX and VoIP phone systems for Botswana businesses: extensions, an auto-attendant, hunt groups, voicemail and call recording, on SIP trunks or the lines you already have.

What the work covers

A business phone system should answer calls the way the business wants them answered, ring the right people, and keep working when someone moves desk. Most of the trouble we are called in for comes from systems that were installed and then left alone.

Design

We start from how calls actually arrive and who should take them: reception, departments, after hours. That becomes the dial plan, the auto-attendant greeting and the hunt groups, so calls stop dying on one desk.

Installation

An IP PABX on site or hosted, with desk handsets, and softphones on laptops and mobiles, all on the same dial plan. Moving a desk, or moving office, does not mean rebuilding the phone system.

Lines and SIP trunks

SIP trunks from a local operator, or the analogue lines you already have, connected through a gateway. Where a site still depends on analogue lines, the gateway can be monitored too, so a dead line is noticed before a customer notices it.

Support and upgrades

Moves, adds and changes, faults, version upgrades and migrations, under a service-level agreement if you want one. We also take over systems another installer put in. Platforms we build on or support today include FreePBX (Asterisk), Mitel MiVoice and Yeastar gateways.

Questions we get asked

5 ENTRIES

Q.01 Can you support a phone system someone else installed?

Yes. We document what is there first: the dial plan, the trunks, the extensions, and who holds the admin passwords. Then we support it as it stands or plan an upgrade, whichever makes more sense for the business.

Q.02 Do we have to replace all our handsets?

Not necessarily. Many IP handsets can be moved onto a new system, and analogue phones can stay on an adapter. We check what you have before we quote for anything new.

Q.03 On-site PABX or hosted?

Both work. An on-site PABX keeps everything in your building; a hosted one leaves less hardware to look after. The choice usually comes down to the number of extensions, how many sites you have and how good your internet connection is, and we will tell you which we would choose and why.

Q.04 Can calls be recorded?

Yes, where the business needs it, for example in a call centre or a regulated service. Recording can be set per extension or per queue, and you decide who can listen back.

Q.05 Can the phones work with our CRM?

Yes: the customer record opens on an incoming call, numbers dial from the record, and calls are logged against the contact. See CRM integration.
